- below are some past histories of my life -

December | January | February | March | June

6/6/98 It's passing-out-parade at Nee Soon Camp. A total of 14 contingents from Nee Soon(BMTC2) and Tekong(BMTC1) are passing out. The weather was hot and humid but our spirits were still high. Everyone was equally excited about this day where we finally completed our 10 weeks of Basic Military Training. The march-in parade was wonderful and solid. We all march pass the guests with pride and passion. It's definitely a great feeling. I performed in the mass PT under the Basic PT section. There were log PT and rifle PT. Others display were bayonet fighting and mock attack. the day would remained as an unforgettable day.

30/3/98 The day has come, the time is up. Tomorrow I would be off to my BMT in P.Tekong. Fear and anxiety are definitely there in my heart and mind, but it's up to you to take them in your own way. Military training made a boy a real man, from inner thinking to physical strength. Actually I'm not that afraid, there's nothing to be scare. I'm only thinking what it would be like from tomorrow onwards. Just be mentally prepared and take everything one at a time, simply it means take it easy! Have fun while sweating it out! You have to conquer yourself before you go to defeat others. See you my fellow friends and family. I'll be back, 30 days money back guarantee!

20/3/98 I would be quitting my temporary job today after a stay of nearly 3 months. I had a memorable experience working in my department in SingTel. It was really a useful job and I picked quite a number of stuffs from office politics to interpersonal skills. I wanna very much to thanks all those working on the same floor who has help me in one way or another. Special thanks to my department, Andrew Buay(Director), Tan Keng Wah, Andrew Wee, Cheong Kong Wai, Sanjay (SOs), Stella Tan, Kan Choi Mui & Rokiah(JOs). Thank you you all and wish you all good luck! This day would be a start of my preparation for my National Service enlistment on 31st of March. I would be staying for more than 2 months in P.Tekong Sch 1 Military Training Camp 1.

16/3/98 Deciding what to study in varsity is really difficult. Primary choice would be in the field of engineering, but after some thought that is quite a unexciting job and not what I want in my life. From young I always love to draw and design things, thus creating and designing are my interest. So I thought architecture is a nice choice. However it's not a simple job and subject to do. I'm afraid that my standard is not there and it would be a difficult life for me if I just do it for the sake of my interest. Moreover it would be hard to find a job relating in that field. Therefore in the end I chose engineering over architecture and computer science. As for computer related studies, it's always difficult for one to catch up with the fast-paced technology in these days. It would be a continuous-upgrading job or you would be out of the market. At the end of the day, I posted my application with NUS & NTU engineering as my 1st & 2nd choices. My 3rd choice is computer engineering in NTU, 4th choice is NUS architecture (just for my interest sake) and my last choice is computer science & technology at NUS. Actually NUS engineering is not all a bad choice because my brother is studying there too, same varsity same faculty.

10/3/98 After a all-round re-design of my homepage, I finally out it up on the world-wide-web. Basically it's the design you're seeing now. I'd included a frame and added many Java applets and scripts to enhance the user interaction with my homepage! New midi are also used for more lively web surfing. A new Sport Zone is done up to show my enthusiasm in sports especially soccer. My knowledge of HTML programming and usage of Java has improved much since I started creating my own webpage. More interesting & fun stuffs are added in my homepage to the enjoyment of visitors to my site. I hope I would learn more web-designing stuffs and enhance my pages with them. I certainly hope my homepage would become better and better each time. Anyway thanks for your support deep from my heart.

5/3/98 My colleague and I had been scaring each other over the outcomes of A level results. And now the true moment finally come with a stunning speed. Before the release of results, we would be thinking when would it be, but when the time is up, we are thinking where would we going to be, if we failed to attain what we hope for? It's 1:30 p.m. when I arrived at Tampines central on the MRT train. Slowly I got out of train and call my friend who I'm suppose to meet up with. However he's already in school and the results are put up on the notice board. So as fast as I could, I rushed to school, a place where all my future lies. Many people were already there, some are sobbing and some look excited. I squeezed my way through the crowd in order to take a peep at my results. Perplex is the word to describe me at that very moment. I got 3As and a C, C6 for my general paper. I was quite shocked though happy to get such result. Unexpected of such result I really get confused and again had a few more look at my result for confirmation, and it's indeed true! After collected my result slip at the hall, my friends were beginning to discuss where they want to go and what they want to study. It would be another turning point of my life. A wrong choice would be regretted for life, it's indeed a difficult decision. Most of my friends had done extremely well to get to a university, and I would say congratulation to you all!

25/2/98 Excitement as well as anxiety fall on me as the A level result would be out soon after the O level results. Thinking back the time I took the exam, I began to frighten as I recalled I got some questions answered wrongly. I truly regret that I didn't put in enough effort that time but it's all too late to say or do anything. Now the moment has arrived and it's up the the my fate if I would made it through to the varsity. I certainly do hope so as it was the initial purpose of the 2 years JC course.

1/2/98 Time fly really fast, it has been a month of work for me and I got my first pay, though it's a small amount, it's really fulfilling. I earned it with my own hard work and ability. The office is so cold that when it's time for lunch I would be shivering and hope to get out to the road to get some warmth. Got to know more friends working out there, some are my colleague's friends and some just pop out from nowhere!

20/1/98 Working as a all-also-do clerk at the corporate planning department is quite boring. As I was supposed to organise and do a computerised library system for them, I had to arrange all the publications they had. And now eating a the crowded canteen was very boring so me and my colleague decided to eat along the Orchard area. the 2 most common place to lunch at are the Somerset Alley and Cineleisure. the food there are nice and not very expensive, and we can also get down to Heeren Shops or HMV to walk around, though sometimes we venture to CentrePoint or Ngee Ann City. It's just after work that I got down to city hall to join my JC friends for a so-called class gathering, coincidentally it was my birthday! We did not do anything except have a nice dinner and chat at marina square. Very soon it's late night and most of us head for our homes.

2/1/98 Today I report to work at Singapore Telecommunication Ltd. (SingTel). It's a very typical office like environment where the floor is filled with small and big cubicles. I was very enthusiastic towards the job though it would be temporary one. My first lunch was with my manager at the canteen, and you know, there's always more people that enough tables & chairs. The place where I work is at the busy Orchard Road, where people of all kinds are aplenty. Soon I got used to that sort of life where you get to meet many people and enjoy what those people do.

30/12/97 Now it's time to upload to the world-wide-web. I thought the FrontPage Publish Wizard is good enough for the task but it turned out as a disaster. In the end my site on the Internet was a mess with many missing links and images, arrghhhh! Left with no choice I began to source for other methods to publish my homepage. Using FTP was recommended my my ISP and friends, but how to do that! Finally after much researches, I put up my homepage on the world-wide-web, what relieve before New Year Day!

20/12/97 Being bored at home, I decided to do something that is challenging and exciting. Furthermore, I always wanted to create my personal homepage. Heading for the library to find resources, I brought back home few heavy & thick web developing references. Soon after installing the FrontPage 97, I was play around with it. First started by using the Web Wizard to create a thought-to-be amazing homepage. I begun to get more interested about doing a better pages and soon my very first original homepage is completed. Wow! Unbelievable even for myself.
